Accepts American, Canadian Coins and Metal Tokens
Coin Divot Insertion
There is a small divot in the coin holder. What ever coin denomination is selected all coins must fit into the divot slot. If the coin is either too forward and too back the red light located at the front of the machine will be displayed red instead of green. The coin denomination should be placed as indicated in the pictures. The images demonstration what the coin acceptor should look like once inserted.

Open front panel and use two fingers to slide spring mounted coin hold up vertically.

Choose which coin denomination to use either American Quarters, Metal Tokens, Canadian Quarters, Loonies or Toonies.

Coin acceptance rate can be increase or decreased by adjusting the slack adjustment knob.
American Quarters
Pay Box Timers recommends that customer use quarters when selecting coin denominations. The two greatest reason for using American or Canadian quarters over other coin denominations is; that quarters are most commonly available coin denomination to the user of the machine. Second the amount of time added to the timer is small on insertion of each quarter. For example if you have a washing machine with a average wash cycle of 60 minutes. Then if a tenant wants use a extended wash cycle of an additional 10 minutes, all they need to do is insert 2 more quarters. This logic also applies to short cycle less then 60 minutes, where the customer inserts less quarters.
Canadian Loonie
The Canadian Mint when producing loonies over the last 20 years. Changed the material composition, and thickness of the loonies. Given this reality not all loonies are created equal. This will result in some loonies be rejected by our coin boxes, the loonie will be returned to the customer from the coin return slot located at the front of the coin acceptor.
Based on our testing target loonie to use are years 2012 or 2022
Metal Token
In locations where theft is a problem, landlords can chose to use metal tokens instead of coin currency. Landlord exchanges money in exchange for tokens. Each token is assigned a value and is given to tenants to use. Thieves have no motivation to break into machines, which reduces cost to the landlord.
Canadian Toonie
Pay Box Timers suggests not using toonies in coin acceptors. The Canadian Mint when producing toonies over the last 20 years. Changed the material composition, and thickness of the toonies. Given this reality not all toonies are not created equal. This will result in some toonies be rejected by our coin boxes, will be returned to the customer from the coin return slot located at the front of the coin acceptor.
Based on our in house testing target toonie to use are years 2007, 2009 or 2011
Canadian Twoonies that are collector or commemorative will not work in the machines.
Canadian Twoonies marked as 1952-2002 will not work in the machines.

In the scenario where a customer selects a twoonie for the target coin denomination, then customer must insert a twoonie which give the customer an additional 45 minutes on the timer., when in fact only 10 minutes of additional time is need for the extended cycle.
