Acceptable Use

The kinds of businesses and conduct allowed on the Pay Box Timers payments platform.

Version 2026-05-27

01

Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes the kinds of businesses and the kinds of conduct that are allowed on the Pay Box Timers payments platform (the “Service”). It applies to every person or entity who uses the Service to accept payments — including owners, resellers, and any other connected merchant. By onboarding a Stripe Connect account through Pay Box Timers, you agree to this AUP in addition to our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Stripe's own Stripe Services Agreement.

02

Who May Use the Platform

The Service is available to legally registered businesses, sole proprietors, and individuals operating coin-replacement, prepaid, and similar pay-per-use hardware (laundromats, showers, EV charging, vending, and comparable use cases). To onboard a payments-accepting account you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be authorized to bind the business you represent
  • Provide accurate information during Stripe Connect onboarding
  • Operate in a jurisdiction where Stripe supports the payment methods you intend to accept
03

Stripe's Restricted Businesses

The Service uses Stripe as its payment processor. You may not use the Service to operate any business that Stripe classifies as Prohibited or Restricted. The authoritative list is maintained by Stripe and is incorporated into this AUP by reference:

Examples of categories Stripe restricts include (but are not limited to): unlicensed money services, adult content, age-restricted goods, gambling, get-rich-quick schemes, multi-level marketing, weapons, and counterfeit goods. Refer to the linked list for the current, complete set.

04

Platform Prohibitions

In addition to Stripe's list, the following are prohibited on the Pay Box Timers Service:

  • Using the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to violate any applicable law in your jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of your customers.
  • Using the Service to facilitate cash advances, debt repayment for previously charged-off accounts, or to circumvent dispute or refund obligations to cardholders.
  • Sharing access credentials, falsifying business information, or operating multiple accounts to evade limits or enforcement actions.
  • Reselling Service access to third parties without Pay Box Timers’ written consent.
  • Operating hardware that has been modified to misrepresent the amount being charged or the service being provided.
  • Using the Service in a way that materially increases the platform’s fraud or chargeback rate.
05

Merchant Responsibilities

As the connected merchant you are the seller of the goods or services your customers pay for. You are responsible for: providing the service you charged for, handling customer disputes and refund requests, complying with consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction, accurately describing your business to Stripe during onboarding, and keeping your Stripe Connect account verification information current. Pay Box Timers facilitates payments on your behalf and is not the merchant of record for your transactions.

06

Enforcement & Suspension

We may, at any time and at our sole discretion, suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated this AUP, the Terms & Conditions, or the Stripe Services Agreement. We may also act on enforcement requests from Stripe, from card networks, or from a Governmental Authority. When we suspend an account we will, where reasonably possible, notify you and explain what is required to restore access.

Stripe independently reserves the right to suspend or close any connected account under the Stripe Services Agreement. Pay Box Timers cannot override Stripe's account-level actions.

07

Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. When we do, the version identifier at the top of this page is incremented and previously-accepted users will be prompted to re-accept on next onboarding action. Continued use of the Service after a published update constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
